Who Is Iboni Craft?

I-boni Craft is a group of artisans in Rowoboni Village, Semarang Regency, focusing on creating products made from water hyacinth.

Founded in 2018 by Mrs. Uswatun Chasanah, I-boni Craft has become a symbol of creativity and innovation in utilizing the abundant water hyacinth plants in the Rawa Pening area. The name “I-boni” comes from the combination of “I am” in English, meaning “saya,” and “boni” from Rowoboni Village, which collectively means “crafts from Rowoboni Village.” This name was chosen with the support of the village officials, who wanted an identity that reflected the origin and uniqueness of the products.

Our Story

After attending an empowerment training, Mrs. Uswatun Chasanah decided to establish I-boni Craft as a platform for the women in the village to develop their skills in working with water hyacinth. With a spirit of innovation and dedication, they create a variety of handicraft products that are not only beautiful but also serve as eco-friendly solutions. Each product is handmade by skilled artisans using traditional weaving techniques passed down through generations. These products not only offer aesthetic beauty but also carry the stories and cultural heritage of Rowoboni.
